Jane was quite simply the best friend you could ever wish for - that perfect mix of loyalty, love and always a laugh. Jane could rustle up the perfect meringue, throw perfect parties and have the best laughs at something a just little bit rude. She urged me to ski, taught me how to make gingerbread and always had sweets in her handbag- what more could you ask. Jane was the most selfless person I have met in my 71 years, a completely devoted mother of her three boys, a very loving grandmother and the very centre of her family’s life. A generous eldest sister, godmother to my daughter Clare and the most conscientious friend. When I was lonely at university it was Jane’s letters that would brighten my day. When we were struggling with the demands of a young family- she would provide a long lunch. When we needed a break we enjoyed shopping trips or fabulous holidays.  Always there was laughter, always a hug. Jane was a one off. I will miss her every day.
